Released by West Ham, the Jamaica striker has been training with Championship club Leicester for several weeks.
TalkSPORT says a deal is now closer to being realised with Julian Carranza joining Feyenoord on-loan for the season.
Antonio, 35, hasn't played competitively at club level since he broke his leg in four places having crashed his Ferrari in December 2024.
However, Antonio has proved his fitness with Jamaica this season. Carranza's move is being viewed as a way to make room to add Antonio to manager Marti Cifuentes' squad.
"He’s training with us at the moment and we’re having a look," said Cifuentes.
"He’s a good football player. He comes from a period without a team, but he’s been training only a couple of days with us and he’s been looking good. He's a good lad to have around as well."
