Rodrygo is expected to leave Real Madrid this summer with coach Xabi Alonso not viewing the Brazil international as a first-choice player for his system.
A move to the Premier League has been mooted for Rodrygo, with Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool all in contact.
And AS says Tottenham are also in contact, with chairman Daniel Levy leading the push.
While no formal talks have been held, Spurs have registered their interest, with Levy hoping his close relationship with Real president Florentino Perez and the club's board to burn off rival Premier League competition.
Florentino rates Rodrygo at €90-95m, but Levy aims to talk down that assessment given his history with Real regarding the sales of Gareth Bale, Luka Modric and Rafael van der Vaart.
