Fulham are reportedly growing frustrated as manager Marco Silva remains reluctant to sign a new deal.

Last month, it was reported that Silva was Nottingham Forest's first choice to replace Ange Postecoglou before Sean Dyche took the job. Since then, he has been linked with a number of roles such as Borussia Dortmund in what are worrying signs for the Fulham board.

Silva will be a free agent when his existing contract expires at the end of the season, and after Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Everton left them just a point above the bottom three, he may be looking for a step-up in his career.

As reported by journalist Ben Jacobs, the club desire to lock Silva down to a new deal, but the Portuguese head coach is still shying away from putting pen to paper.

“Understand, Fulham are weighing up the future Marco Silva.

“Tensions are mounting with Fulham only a point above the relegation zone.

“And Silva, who is a free agent this summer, has proven reluctant to sign a new deal. This has been Fulham’s preference since the summer.”

Fulham registered their highest-ever points tally in the Premier League with 54 last season as they finished 11th. Now, after facing Brighton, Chelsea, Aston Villa, Bournemouth, and Newcastle alongside home games against Manchester United and Arsenal in their opening fixtures, Silva has struggled so far.

The former Hull, Watford and Everton manager seems likely to leave Fulham once his contract expires. Silva has been a figure who has attracted much attention in recent years and he may feel it is now time to move on South London.
