Chelsea and France defender Frank Leboeuf has opened up on Liam Rosenior who signed for the Blues this week.

The West London side officially confirmed the appointment of Rosenior as head coach on Tuesday afternoon, handing the 41-year-old a six-and-a-half-year contract running until 2032.

Rosenior is relatively unknown in the football world and many reports had to explain his story to fans who hope he can become an upgrade on Enzo Maresca.

Leboeuf, however, is a big fan of the former Strasbourg boss, as he spoke to OLBG about how he has the qualities to become one of the world’s best head coaches.

“Liam Rosenior has all the tools to become one of the best coaches in the world. It's funny because he doesn't look like a coach but when he talks, he's like a philosopher, he's like a teacher. I love his calmness and his way of thinking about football.

“He's going to be a great coach for sure with what he does with young players. He did great at Strasbourg, and happy for him.”

Rosenior becomes Chelsea's fourth permanent boss since owners BlueCo took control in 2022 after Maresca was dismissed on New Year's Day. Rosenior faces Fulham later this week in his first game in charge, as fans hope to see the team improve.
