Silva saw his stay at Fluminense come to an end on Wednesday and reportedly wants a move back to Europe to revive his hopes of playing at the World Cup whilst also moving closer to his family.
The 41-year-old spent four years at Chelsea before leaving Stamford Bridge last year when his contract expired. Now, Premier League clubs will be on red alert over a potential move for the experienced defender, who seems set to return to England.
Chelsea West Ham, Fulham, and Crystal Palace are all reportedly ready to make offers for the veteran ahead of the January transfer window which is quickly approaching.
Silva’s sons Isago and Iago both play for the Chelsea academy, and former captain John Terry spoke earlier this week about how a move for the defender would make sense to him.
"Thiago Silva is available. Now, listen to me, a man with great experience, a man with a great relationship with our football club.
"His two kids are in our academy, no doubt he's going to be back in London over here with his family for Christmas.
"I would love to see this man back at our football club, playing alongside these players.”
Silva was named in the Club World Cup Team of the Tournament as he proves he still has what it takes to perform at the highest level. Fans could soon see him back in the Premier League in what would be a welcome return.
