The 32-year-old, who signed for the Spanish club Villarreal in August after his Arsenal contract expired, has appeared at court in London to face further charges of rape.
Partey was charged in July with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault but was also charged with two new counts of rape relating to an additional woman in February this year.
As per reports, he has denied all allegations, meaning he has now pleaded not guilty to seven counts of rape and one count of sexual assault, relating to allegations from four different women.
As per the Daily Mail, his defence lawyer, Jenny Wiltshire, spoke on the new charges:
“Thomas Partey continues to deny all charges against him. He has cooperated with the police throughout.
“Given there are ongoing legal proceedings, there will be no further comment.”
The offences date back to 2021 and 2022 and came once a probe into him was launched in February 2022 after officers first received a report of rape.
Partey was first charged in July, four days after leaving Arsenal. Many supporters have criticized the Premier League side, suggesting that the club may have known about such accusations.
The midfielder was pictured arriving at Southwark Crown Court today for the hearing and is due to stand trial in November. He denies all charges and more news on proceedings should come over the next few months.
