The Daily Mail says candidate Noronha Lopes has pledged to make Ferreira their director of football should he win the election.
Before joining Forest in June 2024, Ferreira spent 17 years at Benfica in a variety of roles.
Benfica members take to the polls later this month to elect the club's president and new board.
Forest lost technical director Ross Wilson to Newcastle United earlier this week.
