Ngumoha was named on the bench for Liverpool’s trip to the City Ground and was introduced to the contest in the 77th minute, when he completely turned the game around for The Reds.
Both Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo failed to make an impact against Nottingham Forest, but it was Ngumoha who, at just 17 years old, controlled the Liverpool attack and led the side to 3 points.
The teenager has attracted much attention from pundits, including Ferdinand, who believes he has a very bright future in the English top flight.
“If you were going to put your money on four kids right now, in the Premier League to do their thing, based on what you’re seeing now, you’ve got Rio at Liverpool, you’ve got Max Dowman, you’ve got JJ Gabriel at Man United, and Jesse Derry at Chelsea.
“Top drawer the kid Rio for Liverpool,” Ferdinand posted on X. “Changed the game for them.
“A winger that wants to beat his man and deliver with a mix of speed and finesse.”
Ngumoha should be handed more chances
Speaking more on Rio Ferdinand Presents, the former United defender pleaded with manager Arne Slot to give him more chances to shine.
“He looks like a breath of fresh air. He’s standing full-backs up. He’s taking them on and then clipping it (to the) back post, making the right decisions. He’s still gonna make mistakes, but how can he not be starting a few more games?
“If your wingers who are playing aren’t performing, then he’s got a right to sit there and ask for a little cameo and go, ‘Let me start a game, at least’. He looks electrifying and I saw this kid when he was 12, 13 years old. He is a special talent.”
In his 20-minute cameo, Ngumoha created as many goal scoring chances as Salah had in the previous 76 minutes in another performance that will give Slot something to think about.
