Ex-England coach Hodgson: These two players are on Gerrard and Rooney level

Hodgson, 78, is now in charge of Bristol City in the Championship and was asked by Wayne Rooney on his personal podcast if England have players on a par of Rooney, Steven Gerrard and John Terry.

Ex-England coach Hodgson replied: "Marc Guehi is up there and Eberechi Eze is up there too.

"You're pretty lucky if you come to a club and you've got those. That's half a chance, really."

Eze left Palace for Arsenal last summer, while Guehi made the move to the Manchester City in January.
