Dowman made history when he became the youngest goalscorer in Premier League history in Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Everton on Saturday afternoon with a brilliant solo run.
However, Dozzell still holds the English top-flight record after scoring when he was 16 years and 57 days old as he scored his debut goal for Ipswich against Coventry City on 4th February 1984.
Aged just 16 years and 73 days, Max has broken a Premier League milestone that had been held for two decades by James Vaughan.
Dozzell offered some advice to the teenager who failed to beat his all-time record by just 16 days.
"People around you, keep your circle pretty small. As far as the pressure on the player, you're so young, everything's just going on over your head.
"So, you're not really thinking about that. You're just riding this wave, and you just have to go with it.
"But, like I said, he's got good people around him. He seems quite balanced in his life.
"And, just a fantastic player who's going to go on to so many good things.
"Mikel Arteta's got a big role to play. So do senior players because they've got a duty of care to look after him!"
Dowman goal confirmed three crucial points in Arsenal’s title pursuit, taking them 9 points clear of second-placed Manchester City.
The Arsenal starlet is still at school and will be wise to listen to Dozzell’s advice as he navigates both education and football.
