De Zerbi admits he was a fan of the Aussie's style of play, which ended with victory in the Europa League - and Postecoglou losing his job weeks later.
“I want to keep the ball,” De Zerbi said.
“I want to see again the Tottenham I watched with Postecoglou, because in my second season in Brighton, he was here with a lot of these players.
“It was one of the best teams in terms of quality of play. With Pedro Porro, with (Destiny) Udogie, (Micky) Van de Ven, (Cristian) Romero. I would like to see it again.”
De Zerbi also denied he took the Spurs job at this stage in the season thanks to a massive survival bonus being included.
“No, you can find the right answer in my history, because I left a lot of money in my life,” De Zerbi continued.
“The money never changed my focus on my work."
Tottenham are now inside the Premier League dropzone after West Ham's win against Wolves last night.
