The Ghana international has been out for more than three months after limping out of Spurs' 1-1 draw with Sunderland on January 4th and has now picked up another injury set back.
Should Kudus require surgery, he would be ruled out for the rest of the season, and that would also put his participation at the World Cup in doubt in what is a huge loss for Ghana.
Kudus is a great loss
De Zerbi spoke on the injury ahead of the Sunderland clash, where he seeks to pick up Tottenham’s first win of 2026.
“Kudus was in my head a crucial player, especially for the position, but we have to look forward anyway.
“I think we have a lot of very good attackers and we have to help them, to put them in the best condition to show their qualities, because Kolo Muani, I know he's not playing a great season, but he's a good player.
“I know, like Mathys Tel I wanted him in Marseille, Xavi Simons is a big talent, Richarlison and Solanke you know maybe better than me, and so we have to put them in the best condition we can."
The injury list grows
The likes of Dejan Kulusevski, James Maddison, Mathys Tel, Pape Matar Sarr, Rodrigo Bentancur, Guglielmo Vicario and Ben Davies are all also out as De Zerbi attempts to rotate a Tottenham side who sit just one point above the relegation zone.
The good news for De Zerb is that Bentancur is making good progress in his recovery from a hamstring injury earlier in the year and may return before the campaign ends.
“Bentancur is working with us, but not completely, but we have enough to fight, to play and to make points.”
