The Argentina international has featured just a handful of times this season for The Blues, making short cameos in various competitions, often off the bench under former manager Enzo Maresca.
Since Maresca’s departure, he has featured once for new manager Liam Rosenior, grabbing an assist against Charlton Athletic as the West London side won 5-1 to progress to the fourth round.
Now, after a failed loan at Brighton last season, the 21-year-old is set to go out on loan once more, this time to West Yorkshire according to transfer expert Ben Jacobs.
“Facundo Buonanotte set to leave #CFC and join Leeds United on loan. Agreement in place, as @FabrizioRomanocalled. Buonanotte was close to joining Leeds over the summer, prior to Chelsea hijacking the deal.
“Leeds had a medical booked back then and will now add the Argentine.”
Buonanotte is unlikely to feature under Rosenior for the rest of the season and a loan to Leeds may be the best move for him at this stage of his career where he simply needs minutes to prove himself on the pitch.
The youngster has been a Premier League player since the age of 17 and will know what it is like to fight for a mid table side fighting against the tide of relegation.
