The Premier League leaders remain in contention for three trophies this season under Mikel Arteta who has been criticised for his lack of flair and constant use of set piece tactics this season.
Following their Carabao Cup final defeat, pundits ripped into the Gunners who looked toothless in attack when up against the Manchester City defence.
Carragher has now discussed Arsenal’s frontline which even though it includes Viktor Gyokeres, he says still needs a top striker to lead from the front.
"I don’t think it will affect the league because Arsenal have got such a big gap. But my thing with Arsenal now – and you could probably say this with every team in the Premier League – is there’s not enough special players.
"You still need to buy a centre forward. There’s no star player, and sometimes you need that player when you’re not playing well like they wasn’t in the cup final.
"I don’t think Arsenal have enough special players in attack and that would worry me a bit for the Champions League."
Gyokeres has managed 16 goals in 42 games and is the only Arsenal player to hit double figures this term which says a lot about Arsenal’s underwhelming attack.
With the summer approaching, Arsenal may consider Carragher’s comments as Arteta reviews who is scoring the goals in his side ahead of the new campaign.
