Unai Emery, who has now won the Europa League five times, with three different clubs, led Villa to glory in Istanbul this week as he helped the side to seal their second major European title 44 years after they won the European Cup.
Villa are set to finish 4th in the Premier League if they can grab a draw in their final game against Manchester City on the final day as they look ahead to next season where a title run could be on the cards.
Speaking to Action Network, Barry has backed his former club where he says anything is possible under Emery.
“With Unai Emery's experience and the squad they've built, they were deserved winners (of the Europa League) and the best team in the competition by quite some distance.
“This is brilliant and absolutely amazing for the fans, who will be delighted to finally end that 'hoodoo' and win the trophy after such a long wait.
“They showed this year they can challenge up to a point in the Premier League, and there is no reason they can't take that even further next year.
“Since they've put the trophy 'hoodoo' out of the way, they should go and pick up some more now while they have a great manager and a good squad of players.”
With Villa now in the Champions League for next season, a title push will be tough without reinforcements this summer to bolster the squad who look like they are already ready to compete for anything under Emery’s guidance.
