Patrick Bamford admits he urged former Leeds teammate Harry Gray to join Rotherham.

The highly-rated striker has joined the Millers on-loan for the remainder of the season.

Bamford, now with Sheffield United, told The Sun: "I’ve always enjoyed helping the youngsters.

“When Harry first came up to train with the first team, I tried to help him as much as I could.

“And he actually texted me the other day before he went on loan asking for my thoughts.

“We spent about half an hour going through what the options were and the pros and cons of each one — and what I thought was best for him.

“It’s nice to be asked these things as well. The fact he lent on me a little bit showed he valued my opinion. I’m always happy to help him in any way I can.”
