Yoro conceded a 36th-minute penalty that Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta converted to give Palace the lead on Sunday afternoon. Goals from Joshua Zirkzee and Mason Mount helped United bounce back but focus lingered on Yoro whose head dropped.
When Yoro was replaced by Noussair Mazraoui, the TV camera panned to the Frenchman, who looked less than happy. Speaking in his latest press conference, Amorim has backed the young defender, who he thinks is in his head too much.
"I also spoke with him because he thinks too much, he makes a mistake in the game, and then he struggles because he’s too young, and he wants to do everything so well.
"He’s growing, with games and with setbacks, it’s not easy for him as a young guy. He cannot give that to the people the way he came to the bench, he understands that, but he was really frustrated.
"On the good side, it shows that he cares, he knows it wasn’t his best game but he did some things well and I showed him that also. He’s fit and ready for the next challenge."
The Red Devils and West Ham will meet at Old Trafford on Thursday evening, Yoro should be one of the first names on the team sheet for Amorim despite the 20-year-old’s mistakes which will further prove the trust between him and his head coach.
