Arsenal’s Martin Zubimendi is the latest to withdraw from his respective international side in recent days as he joins 12 players who have returned to North London over the past week.
Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice and Noni Madueke have pulled out the Three Lions squad as they prepare to face Japan in a friendly on Tuesday night.
Many have questioned the extent of their injuries as pundits suggest that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is simply protecting his players from unnecessary injuries.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Agbonlahor has called for England captain to speak to the Arsenal stars who dodged their last game before the World Cup this summer.
"I tell you something, players will stop pulling out. Playing for your country is an honour. If I'm Harry Kane, I'm speaking about this and saying, 'Come on, guys, let's not go back to what we were doing four or five years ago where players are pulling out non-stop.'
"I get it, Arteta is doing everything possible to win these trophies. Their next game after the international break is the FA Cup against Southampton.
"I'm just not keen on players pulling out of international duty. It's an honour to play for your country. It doesn't sit right with me."
As reported by the BBC, across the 20 Premier League sides, 228 players were called up for their international sides. Twenty-three of those have since dropped out with almost half being Arsenal players.
