Arsenal players Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka and Noni Madueke withdrew from the England squad due to injuries this week as they miss Tuesday’s friendly with Japan.
However, with Rice and Saka said to be ready to face Southampton in the FA Cup this weekend, Madueke is not as lucky as reports state he could be out for a number of weeks.
The Athletic report that Madueke walked through Wembley’s media mixed zone with a knee brace on his left leg after England’s clash with Uruguay last week and will now miss games against Southampton and Sporting.
England coach Thomas Tuchel admitted that he was “worried” about Madueke’s injury, saying that he would “be out for some days” which may be more like weeks now which is a huge worry for Arteta.
The Gunners travel to Lisbon on Tuesday, April 7th before hosting Bournemouth on Saturday, April 11th and welcoming Sporting to the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday, April 15th.
It is a very busy schedule for the North London side and now, without Madueke, they may struggle to rotate in what has already been an underwhelming attack for Arteta so far this season.
