Bournemouth forward Amine Adli says they must not dwell on defeat at Sunderland on Saturday.

Adli scored on the day as Bournemouth blew a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2 on Wearside.

"We showed a lot of good things, and matches like this often come down to small details,” he told the club's website afterwards.

“It’s a painful one to take, especially when you go 2-0 up at a place where that is very hard to do.

“At 2-0, we should be taking all three points, it is painful in that regard. I think the penalty they got for their first goal maybe shouldn’t have been given - I felt there was a foul on Adrien Truffert and then on Marcus Tavernier in the build-up. That helped turn the game, but even so, we could have defended better.”

Adli said of the setback: “Football is decided in the key moments, but we’re not dramatic about it.

“We know what we can do, and we need to react by showing the quality we’ve displayed in spells over the last two games.”

He added, “I don’t care about personal stats. It’s nice to score, but the team lost, so the goal doesn’t matter to me. Whether I score or not, I always play for the team.”
