Emmanuel Emegha has been suspended by Strasbourg after failing to respect the club's values.

Emegha will be joining the Blues on a permanent basis in the summer after a move was announced on September 12th earlier this year as he moves from Chelsea’s sister club to West London.

However, ahead of his future move, the striker has been punished by Strasbourg after he failed to maintain the club’s values, which will not impress the Chelsea board.

A club statement read: “Racing Club de Strasbourg Alsace has decided to suspend Emmanuel Emegha for its next Ligue 1 match, this Saturday, December 6 in Toulouse

“This decision was taken following the player’s recent failure to respect the club’s values, expectations and rules.

“Racing reaffirms its commitment to the essential principles of exemplary conduct and respect for the collective framework.

“Emmanuel remains an important member of our team, who has always given his all for the club on the pitch. He will be reintegrated into the squad after this match.

“No further comments will be made.”

Emegha has made seven Ligue 1 appearances this season, scoring four goals and adding two assists for the French side who are eighth in Ligue 1.

It has not been reported what behaviour from Emegha prompted this response from the club but it must have been serious enough to release a statement which will only worry Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca heading into next season.
