Last week, Donnarumma bid farewell to the Parc des Princes in an emotional moment with PSG's ultras after he was forced out of the side by manager Luis Enrique. City have lined up Donnarumma, who is free to leave the Ligue 1 champions, to replace Ederson who could leave in a few hours time.
The 26-year-old played 161 games at PSG, winning, among other trophies, four Ligue 1 titles and the Champions League in 2024-25. Speaking to TMW he briefly commented on his move where he could make his debut in the Premier League against rivals Manchester United after the international break.
“I'm thrilled about this new adventure!”
Donnarumma was given a warm round of applause by the PSG fans inside the Parc des Princes as many supporters hate to see the shot stopper leave after several years of incredible service. He replaces Ederson, who is in talks with Fenerbahce over a move which would bring his eight-year stay at the Etihad Stadium to an end in what will be an emotional goodbye.
The 32-year-old has also been the subject of interest from Galatasaray and clubs in the Saudi Pro League during the window, and manager Pep Guardiola is keen to push him out the side to bring in a more reliable goalkeeper.
