Sevilla are moving quickly to replace Matias Almeyda, who was sacked on Monday afternoon.
Marca says Sevilla has reached an agreement with García Plaza to try and keep the club up in the nine remaining matches.
García Plaza, along with Diego Martínez, were the club's top choices to turn things around. The agreement includes an option to extend the contract for another season.

Almeyda's assistant has filled in on the bench for the last five matches following the Argentine's suspension for the sending-off against Alavés. A former player and club stalwart, Martínez will remain with Sevilla on Garcia Plaza's staff.
