Bayern won the first-leg of their Champions League quarterfinal 2-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu. Luis Diaz and Harry Kane had Bayern 2-0 ahead before Kylian Mbappe pulled a goal back midway through the second-half.
Rudiger said afterwards: "We came out in the second half and conceded a goal right away. For me, the two goals we conceded were gifts. I think we need more in the second half.
“Everything opened up with a goal from Mbappé. Both teams had many chances to score more goals, but in the end, it played out like this.”
On Real's turnovers, Rudiger lamented: “We talked about these things, about not losing the ball easily. Look at the two goals. At this level, it’s very dangerous.
“I think we need to shoot more on target. Today, Bayern’s best player was the goalkeeper, (Manuel) Neuer.”
