But he has now penned a new five-year contract with Rayo.
The club announced: "Andrei Ratiu and Rayo Vallecano de Madrid have reached an agreement to extend the contract that binds both parties until the end of the 2029-30 season .
"Andrei, who joined the Club in the 2023/24 season, has become one of the key players in the first team's sporting successes in these campaigns.
"We are happy to continue making history together, Andrei."
