Robert Lewandowski's biography claims he was happy seeing former coach Xavi axed by Barcelona.

Polish journalist Sebastian Staszewski —author of a biography of the striker— states his extremely competitive mentality often influenced the decisions of the clubs he played for.

A dominant character, capable of even influencing the position of coaches.

Interviewed by Tribuna, Staszewski described a ruthless Lewandowski in the pursuit of success: "He has a simple rule: whoever helps him win is a friend, whoever stands in his way becomes an enemy. If a coach opposes his beliefs, he is convinced he is right."

A determination which, according to the journalist, even contributed to Carlo Ancelotti's departure from Bayern Munich, with whom relations were never truly smooth.

A scenario that, according to Staszewski, would have been repeated at Barcelona.

Lewandowski, disappointed with the team's performance under Xavi, would have pushed for the club to change the coaching position, despite knowing that it was the Catalan coach himself who had requested his arrival at the Blaugrana.

"(Hansi) Flick arrived, and suddenly, Robert had a fantastic season. When it comes to winning, Lewandowski is ruthless," the journalist added.
