Sport says Girona now have a clear run at signing the Germany goalkeeper after Aston Villa dropped their interest last week.

Ter Stegen has been encouraged by Barca management to find himself a new club as he is regarded as third choice behind Joan Garcia and Wojciech Szczesny by coach Hansi Flick.
Further, Germany chief Rudi Voller has openly declared Ter Stegen needs regular football to be sure of a place in next summer's World Cup squad.
As such, Girona are now closing on a loan deal for the veteran to the end of this season.
