Valencia captain Jose Antonio Gaya says the players are fully behind coach Carlos Corberan.

Defeat at home to Real Madrid on Sunday has left Valencia one place and one point outside the bottom three.

Gaya didn't hide the difficulty of the moment after suffering defeats in both La Liga and the Copa del Rey over the past week.

He said: “It's been a very tough week for us. We've lost all three matches, and there's no other option but to regroup and get through this.”

Regarding the fans' discontent, evident at Mestalla with whistles and chants, the captain showed understanding.

Gayá stated that he understands the fans' reaction: "It's normal for people to be nervous. If I were a fan, I'd be too. It's a complicated situation, for us as well."

Despite this, the left-back was emphatic when addressing the chants directed at the coach.

He added, "We have one hundred percent confidence in Corberán and we're going to try to turn this around as soon as possible."
