Gavi told TNT afterwards: "Today's elimination hurts.
"We were much better than Atlético Madrid, but in the end it's about scoring goals and they scored more goals than us."
The midfielder added: "We had them, we were eating them alive the whole game. They get one chance, score a goal, and that's it for you, you can go home. And that's exactly what happened,"
Gavi was referring to Barcelona's statistic of 14 shots and 2 goals compared to Atlético's 4 shots on target for 3 goals over the two legs.
