The Argentine was axed and replaced at Sevilla by Luis Garcia Plaza.
Almeyda recalled his dismissal to YouTuber Adrian Marcelo: "It was very similar to what I experienced at River Plate back then. A club with financial problems, political problems and a fanbase that always expects the team to win, and this wasn't a team built to fight for a title, but rather to fight against relegation.
"I move when I feel wanted . What happened to me in Seville is a first. It can happen, right? At the clubs I've been at, I stayed two or three years. And what happened here was different because even the day before they told me I had to leave, they were telling me I was going to stay until the end.
"That kind of betrayal in football is what I can't accept... That hurts. Because I think, those people can't even look at me anymore.
"I say there are straightforward things. Don't come telling me I'll be there if you're just going to kick me out. Tell me you don't know if you'll be there, then I can kick you out. Otherwise, it's kind of two-faced, isn't it?"
