Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has commented on the cub's bomb squad who he admits he does not care about as he prepares for the season ahead.

Chelsea lifted the FIFA Club World Cup on July 13th in New Jersey and then gave the players a three-week break in which Maresca has proven to be ruthless in the transfer market as he rearranges his team for their first fixture against Crystal Palace

Certain individuals at the club are being made to train away from the rest of the first-team ranks as the Italian head coach pushes them aside to focus on the players he wants to be part of his title chasing squad that will be filled to the brim with world class talent.

Maresca was asked about Lesley Ugochukwu’s move to Burnley in a £23M deal over the past week and he answered truthfully that the deal was of no importance to him and that he often receives news such as that via text rather than being involved.

"The situation, I think, is quite clear. They are training. I guess they are waiting for a solution. But when they leave, it's just the club that they text me or they call me.

"It was just mentioned to me that Lesley joined Burnley. I have this kind of news from the club because I don't pay attention to the ones that are training and need to leave. I just focus on how we prepare the session, how we can win games."

More squad changes are certain to happen before friendlies against Bayer Leverkusen on Friday and AC Milan on Sunday. Levi Colwill picked up a serious ACL injury which means he will likely have to be replaced whilst Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho are due to join Maresca as he continues to build his project.
