Manchester United boss Michael Carrick was in Oxford last night to support the club's youngsters in their FA Youth Cup clash at Oxford United.

Carrick made the 160-mile round trip to back United's kids as they won 4-1 on the night.

JJ Gabriel, Chido Obi, Albert Mills and Noah Ajayi struck for United.

United U18 coach Darren Fletcher chose to field winger Gabriel in the centre of midfield and was rewarded as the 15 year-old opened the scoring on the night.

For the next round, United will face a home match against the winners of Sunderland vs Brighton next week.
