Guardiola relishes Liverpool rivalry
Guardiola’s side have put together a superb 17-game winning run on home soil in the FA Cup and will aim to continue it against Liverpool as the Spaniard first spoke on his rivalry with the Premier League champions.
"For many times have been the rival, the biggest, biggest one.
"So this is a team, like you know, making incredible investment last season to be there for many, many years, and is in Champions League, and it's a top contender, top-class players.
"We hopefully can perform like we did at Arsenal to reach the next step."
Salah will be remembered as a legend
Mohamed Salah announced that he will be leaving the club at the end of the season after nine legendary years at Anfield in news that shook the footballing world.
Guardiola was next asked about the Egyptian king who has been one of his biggest problems throughout their fierce rivalry over the past several years.
“One of the greats. What a player, I think an incredible human being. Goals and assists, an absolute legend for Liverpool and for the whole Premier League for what he has done.
“I think it's a good moment to say goodbye to him in this country tomorrow, he deserves the incredible recognition that he has given to world football, especially in this country.”
Guardiola misses Champions League
Finally, moving on from Salah, Guardiola was lastly asked if he and his side feel refreshed after a two week break. Guardiola admits that he wishes his side had not been knocked out the Champions League by Real Madrid.
"I would love to have next week to be in the Champions League and have a busy, busy schedule but unfortunately we're out.
"But focusing on the Liverpool game and preparing for next Sunday -the last chances we have to be still there to have the minimum chance we have to win the Premier League. We'll focus on that."
