Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has waved goodbye to Alejandro Garnacho this summer as he joins Chelsea.

The 21-year-old departed United over the weekend, with his £40M move to Stamford Bridge being confirmed by both clubs who came to an agreement before the summer window slammed shut.

Garnacho was well known to be apart of the bomb squad, consisting of Tyrell Malacia, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Antony who were all unwanted by Amorim who struggled to sell each player over several weeks.

The winger’s reputation at United took a hit after a spat with Amorim last season however, following his omission from the starting line-up for the Europa League final which would eventually lead to his departure from the club.

“Up until the final I played every round helping the team, and today I play 20 minutes, I don't know he said,” he said as he expressed his frustration, “The final will influence my decision.”

His comments angered Amorim who, as reported by The Atheletic, implied that Garnacho would be sold this summer:

“You better hope you have a good agent this summer”

An exit was always on the cards for Garnacho after such a comment and the Argentina international was likely looking for a way out as soon as United fell to Tottenham in the final and started their summer rebuild.
