Chelsea fell to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Arsenal in the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final and will aim to bounce back against the Bees this weekend, where 3 points could send the side into the top four.
Chelsea squad could be infected
Rosenior’s side were missing a number of players through injury and a flu-bug going around the camp, which he first stated has not gone away ahead of the game.
"Liam (Delap) is still at home at the moment, as is Jamie Gittens. The club doctors are doing everything they can to contain what looks to be a virus, become some members of our staff have gone down as well.
"We had a meeting today with the players about washing their hands, the basics, which is really important, and hopefully we can contain it. We have a busy period so we need everyone ready to go and fit and healthy."
The good news for Chelsea, however, is that both Cole Palmer and Reece James are due to return to the squad and are likely to start at the weekend in what is a boost for the side.
"Both of them are training today. We just need to assess them after training and make sure they come through all the protocols they need to come through but it would be great to have them back in the squad and at the moment, it looks like they could be."
Rosenior responds to fan protests
A planned protest against the Chelsea hierarchy by fans who oppose the way they are running the club is set to go ahead before the Brentford clash. Chelsea fans plan to stage a protest outside Stamford Bridge which comes after a "BlueCo out" banner was displayed in the away end at Wednesday night’s 2-1 defeat to Fulham. Rosenior says all he can do is focus on the task at hand.
"All I can focus on is my job, my job is focussed on the pitch. I understand all fans pay their money, they love their club and they want the best for the club and what is best for the club is we win games of football on the pitch. The more we do that, the less chances we have of demonstrations.
"Like I said at the beginning, I'm here to try and help this club win trophies in the short and long term and that is what my focus is on and winning the next game and helping fans go home happy."
