After wins over Cardiff City, Lincoln City, and Wolverhampton Wanderers, the Blues play their first home game of the 2025-26 tournament this week as they seek a path into the final.
Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior will take charge of the game as he replaces Enzo Maresca for the second half of the season, where the club are in a great position to win both the FA Cup and EFL Cup.
However, Rosenior will be without a number of key players including Romeo Lavia whose his latest muscle problem forcing an early exit against Qarabag in November. His time at Chelsea has been filled with injuries, and he is a major doubt against the Gunners.
Levi Colwill was also ruled out for the campaign with an ACL injury before the season had even begun last summer. The England star will obviously miss the clash and will not return for Rosenior until the start of next season.
Meanwhile, having started eight of Chelsea’s previous nine matches and filled roles on both flanks, Malo Gusto is also a doubt to face Chelsea’s North London rivals.
However, he was kept fresh at the weekend as Chelsea faced Fulham and may return if Rosenior thinks it is the right time for him to get back in the squad.
Finally, Reece James is a doubt after he missed Saturday's 5-1 victory over Charlton Athletic in the FA Cup third round. The captain is still managing the consequences of a knock sustained at Craven Cottage and may be rested to maintain his fitness for this weekend.
Rosenior does not want to take risks
Speaking on Gusto, James and Cole Palmer, Rosenior said he does not want to take unnecessary risks.
"I feel like I have got such a good squad here. I don't need to risk their health at the moment.
"We have a huge game on Wednesday, we have a huge game on Saturday, and I'll check the medical reports tonight and tomorrow morning and see how we are then."
