For many, Inter's lack of energy and effort was key to the Rossonero's victory - something which an exasperated Moratti agrees with.
He told La Gazzetta dello Sport: "Putting the derby in a corner this time won't be enough.
"The team must get back to running and playing. On Sunday at San Siro, I didn't see the fire, the tension. That's unacceptable, especially in a derby!
"That defeat, however, occurred a few days earlier, in Como.
"We opted out of the Coppa Italia thinking we'd have the return leg. The last 10 minutes were despicable, with the ball being passed back and forth. We have the squad and the energy to always look for the win.
"That's how the passivity we saw against Milan was trained. Football makes you pay for certain things. Inter played a tired game in the derby, after having deliberately done so in Como. An absolute load of bull****."
On the Scudetto, Moratti added: "I expect Inter to hold firm. Of course, the next round is very, very important. Then Lautaro (Martinez) will return. The important thing is that the players remember that the seven-point lead is a big one and deserved.
"And if we win the Scudetto, I hope no one tries to pass it off as a normal occurrence."
