Barcelona missed out on a shot at Champions League glory for the first time since 2015 as they were brutally thrown out the competition by fellow La Liga side Atletico Madrid on aggregate.
Early goals from Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres had drawn Barça level in the tie, but Ademola Lookman's strike ensured Atlético progressed to the Semi Final where they will face one of Arsenal of Sporting.
Despite the disappointment and heartache, Yamal has taken to social media to speak with fans as he sends a defiant message claiming he and his side will bring European glory back to the side.
"Giving up is not an option," Yamal posted on Instagram. "We gave it our all, but it wasn't good enough. This is just part of the road: to get to the top you have to climb, and we know it won't be easy.
"Every mistake is a lesson, and don't doubt that we will learn from each one. We are Barca, and we will be back where we belong. My parents taught me that a man's word is always fulfilled... and we'll bring (the trophy) to Barcelona. Sempre Barca."
Barcelona's attention will already be on their next La Liga match, which comes at home to Celta Vigo on April 22nd but many fans may already to looking forward to next season’s European run after Yamal’s message.
Meanwhile, Arsenal hold a 1-0 advantage over Sporting ahead of Wednesday's return fixture and Atletico will be keen to see who progresses.
