However, Garcia said at the final whistle: "If I have to go into battle with anyone, it would be him, because he gives his all for each one of us."
Meanwhile, Xabi also said at his post-match media conference: “It was a decision that had already been made. He's always willing to play wherever he's needed. He's very generous and willing.
"The match was decided in the second half, and we had to ease our efforts because both he and (Alvaro) Carreras were seeing a sequence of long-term efforts (in games).”
