Mbappe hit his treble before Eduardo Camavinga and Brahim Diaz struck late for the 5-0 win on Tuesday.
He said afterwards: “We can't forget what happened at the weekend. We must never forget. This is another competition, but we have to keep thinking about what happened and keep working to get better every day so we don't have another night like that.
“My job is to help the team, that's all I think about. I do what I can to help the team win. If I score goals, great, but if I help the team in other ways, that's good too. The important thing is that the team wins matches and trophies.
“If I have five chances, I want to score on all five. That's why Madrid bought me. I always want more. Today I scored three, which is great, but I think I could've scored more. I'm going to work to improve and try to be more efficient in front of goal.”
On his connection with Arda Guler, Mbappe added: “There's a good connection. He's a young lad with great quality, a huge talent. We try to help him give his best for the team. He's playing very well at the moment and we're very happy to have him in our team.”
