The Turkish giants won 1-0 against Liverpool back in September 2025 and manager Arne Slot will be seeking revenge this week as they aim to book their place in the Quarter Final.
Florian Wirtz could return to the Liverpool starting XI when they take on Galatasaray tomorrow after being absent for the last three matches with a back injury that he sustained in the warm-up of the 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest.
However, Liverpool will be lacking elsewhere on the pitch as both Conor Bradley (knee) and Giovanni Leoni (knee) are both out in defence which means Jeremie Frimpong, Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk will step in for Slot this week.
Alisson Becker and Federico Chiesa are also out of the trip to Istanbul as the pair were left out of the travelling squad meaning Giorgi Mamardashvili is in line to deputise between the sticks.
Wataru Endo (ankle / foot) is also out alongside summer signing Alexander Isak (calf/shin/heel injury) who Slot says should return at the start of next month at the earliest as he steps up his rehab.
Liverpool have conceded more goals in their three most recent games (five) than they did in their prior six matches (three) in what is a worrying statistic heading into the Galatasaray clash where the Turkish side will fancy their chances.
However, Slot’s side have only conceded twice in their four fixtures on the road in the competition as they perform much better in Europe than in domestic competitions.
