Everton will be hoping to do the double over the Red Devils for the first time since the 2013-14 season after winning 1-0 at Old Trafford back in November.
United haven’t been in action since their stalemate at West Ham United and have had a week off to rest and recover ahead of this clash as they aim to maintain their spot inside the top four.
Following a mini-revival since interim boss Michael Carrick took over, United look in prime position to snatch Champions League football as they seek another three points against The Toffees.
As Carrick’s side prepare to travel to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, he will miss both Patrick Dorgu (thigh) and Matthijs de Ligt (lower back) in defence as he turns towards Harry Maguire, Diogo Dalot, Lisandro Martinez and Luke Shaw to fill the gaps.
Further up the pitch in midfield, Mason Mount (other) is also out with Carrick giving an update on the England star on Friday afternoon.
“Yeah, Mason is getting closer. I think we've been patient, so we don't want to push anything... We want him back, and he can have a big impact. He's getting closer, which is good for us.”
Everton have failed to win any of their last six in all competitions at home and face a United side who are unbeaten in nine top flight games. This is a must win game for Carrick if he wants to secure European football, which will help him secure a permanent position at the end of the season.
