Salah is back with the Reds squad after returning from the Africa Cup of Nations where his nation Egypt were knocked out in the semi-finals by Senegal.
The Liverpool winger grabbed 4 goals and 1 assist for Egypt as he impressed away from Merseyside but returns trophyless once more as AFCON continues to elude him.
Salah took part in open training ahead of Liverpool's clash with Marseille and has been included in Slot’s side to travel across the channel to face the French giants.
Dominik Szoboszlai was in daily contact with Salah while he was away but neglected to offer any glimpse into the forward’s mindset.
“We speak about everything (but) that’s between me and him,” the midfielder said. “He will come back, and then we just keep on going.
“He will be here, and it’s the decision of the manager and the club. It is not about us, it is about him.”
Slot will welcome Salah’s return to bolster an attack currently missing Alexander Isak through injury. Liverpool’s forward line has been toothless in recent weeks, with summer signing Hugo Ekitike causing any real threat going forward.
Marseille have beaten Newcastle, Ajax and Union Saint-Gilloise in the competition this season and Liverpool will have to be careful as to not slip up and fall out of the qualification places.
