Al-Nassr captain Ronaldo opened the scoring against Al-Akhdoud in the 15th minute, leaving him just two goals shy of 100 in the Roshen League.
The Portuguese international, who is yet to win the league title with Al-Nassr, had led his side to the top of the table as they sit five points ahead of Al-Hilal.
Ronaldo has scored 124 goals in 139 matches for Al Nassr since joining the Riyadh-based club and is less than 50 goals away from reaching 1000 goals which is a major goal for the forward.
Speaking to Thunderpick, Mendes opened up on Ronaldo’s future which he suggests could land him back at Sporting where it all began.
“Ronaldo will be proud to win the title in Saudi. It was something he bet on, to win another title in another country. He was the one that chose Saudi. He was the one that put Saudi on the football map and everyone's talking about it.
“For the Sporting fans, they would love it if Ronaldo came back. They will love him to come. And financially, I don't think it will be an issue for Ronaldo at this stage. It's just a matter of if he wants to come.
“I'm sure the Sporting board would receive him with open arms if he decided to come to Sporting for one year to finish his career there. I don't think the financial aspect will be a problem. I don't think so.
“If he scored his thousandth goal at Sporting, he could retire the next day. I could see it.”
With six matches left and a five-point cushion, Al-Nassr and Ronaldo will be confident at securing the league title which could then see the former Manchester United star depart after finding success.
