Tottenham have agreed for Igor Tudor to step in as interim manager this week as he replaces Thomas Frank.

Tottenham sit 16th in the table and after the 2-1 loss to Newcastle United, sacked Thomas Frank this week after just 8 months in charge.

Tudor, the former Croatia and Juventus centre-back is set to step in as interim manager for the rest of the season, as reported by David Ornstein on Friday afternoon.

“Tottenham Hotspur reach verbal agreement with Igor Tudor to become interim head coach. 47yo Croatian set to join #THFC on contract to end of season; no permanent option. Arrives with big-club experience. Process led by Venkatesham & Lange.”

Tudor was appointed as Juventus’ head coach in March last year and guided Juve to fourth in Serie A and sealed Champions League qualification after losing just one of his 11 games in charge

However, he was sacked in October after a run of eight games without a win which is not a promising sign for Spurs who have won just twice in their last 17 league games.

He will now have the task of saving the side from relegation and should be appointed before next weekend’s clash against North London rivals and Premier League leaders Arsenal.

Spurs are five points clear of the relegation zone and hiring Tudor is a gamble for the club given his lack of experience, especially in Europe’s top 5 leagues.

He is set to be announced as interim manager before Monday according to reports, as fans ponder their new head coach.
