Haaland now reunites with the club he scored an astounding 86 goals for in 89 appearances with before joining the Citizens. The Norwegian international is on fire at the moment and cannot stop scoring under manager Pep Guardiola, who claims he is still “incredibly humble”.
Does Haaland think about records?
Ahead of the Dortmund clash, Haaland was firstly asked whether he thinks about records as he continues to find the back of the net.
"Which record? Not to sound arrogant."
“I had 57 one season but I don’t think about records. I focus on the next game. It’s how I need to think.”
Does Haaland stay in the present?
The media also asked whether he just takes it game by game and Haaland nodded in agreement as he tries to focus on the task in front of him rather than the future.
"Yes, definitely. Two days ago we had a game and that's history now.
"We need to focus on tomorrow and that's how my brain works. That's how I need to think because I cannot think too much. I need to think in the present."
Why the robot?
Next, the 25-year-old who grabbed a brace at the weekend against Bournemouth was questioned on his robot celebration and why he did it recently.
“Everyone knows why I did this, check the comments section on any video.
“I never plan any celebration, I do it after you score. We will see (if he does it again).”
How is Haaland so humble?
Haaland was also asked about Guardiola calling him humble earlier on Tuesday afternoon and whether he has worked on it over the past few years.
"Not for me, it is completely normal. I am a Norwegian guy and I shouldn't think I am something because I am scoring goals. I am just Erling and this is something that will never change."
Haaland admits he has been working on his heading
The City star was next asked if he had been working on his heading, something that may come naturally for a tall striker like himself.
"Yes, I have been practising my headers ever since I started with Molde in 2017 with Ole Gunnar (Solskjaer) and Mark Dempsey.
"I think you can always get better in things and with headers I think you can get better. I think you can always get better and better so it is something I try to practise still and you can see that I'm getting better and better but there is still along way to go."
Messi and Ronaldo comparisons are not fair
Finally, the striker was asked about comparisons to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo and if they are fair as he grows as a player.
“No, not at all, far off. No one can get close to them two.
“I am just Erling, a Norwegian guy scoring goals. That won’t change”.
