Szoboszlai struck first with a superb free-kick and was named man-of-the-match at the final whistle.
He told TNT Sports: “Yeah, I did my homework. I got told that if no-one is lying down maybe I can have a chance to hit it under the wall and no-one was laying down so I tried it, and it worked out.”
The Hungary international also said: “It’s very good, I’m very happy. It’s really tough, we knew it before, especially with this team, with this coach (Roberto De Zerbi).
“We know what they are able to do and what he is able to do, we saw it in the Premier League when we played against Brighton (& Hove Albion). But we knew, we were prepared and we take the three points.”
Meanwhile, Reds teammate Jeremie Frimpong beamed: “I think it was a good performance. We defended really well, we attacked really well and created lots of chances. It’s a well deserved victory, so we’re really happy.
“Yes (Liverpool are back to their best), for sure. I feel like we have been good, but we’ve just not been able to finish our chances. Against Burnley, we created so many, but we just couldn’t score. That’s football, you have to score to win.”
