The Reds return to Champions League action on Wednesday night, when they take on Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt, who are 15th in the league phase so far.
The German side have managed to score 12 goals in the five matches leading up to Wednesday's clash and are a side Liverpool must be wary of, especially after losing four games on the bounce under manager Arne Slot.
Liverpool come into the clash off the back of a 2-1 defeat against fierce rivals Manchester United on Sunday and concerningly, Frankfurt boss Toppmoller has joked that he already knows a lot about the Liverpool squad.
"I mean, there are several players I trained already," Toppmoller told TNT Sports.
"(Dominik) Szoboszlai, (Ibrahima) Konate, and also for sure Ekitike. (Ryan) Gravenberch at Bayern as well.
"But for sure, with the connection (with Ekitike) it was closer because he was my player for one and a half years and my main striker, so it's very nice to see how he directly fits perfectly in the squad of Liverpool.
"He has already scored his goals, and he already has a big impact on the game for them, and I expect him also to start tomorrow.
"We are looking forward to seeing him and hopefully at the end of the game we will be the winners."
Liverpool scored just three goals in their four-match losing streak and with Toppmoller’s knowledge of many players including striker Ekitike who should start the game, Slot may be worried tactically as he prepares his side.
