Former Arsenal goalkeeper Graham Stack says Max Dowman's ability reminds him of Paul Gascoigne.

Earlier this week, the Arsenal youngster was named in the line-up for the Young Lions' 3-3 draw in Murcia, and became the youngest starter in the age group's history in the process.

Dowman also came off the bench against Liverpool last weekend and has been included in Arsenal's Champions League squad as he continues to break records at just 15 years old.

Speaking ahead of A Night To Remember, Stack reveals that he believes the teenager has a very bright future and could be compared to an England legend.

“It reminds me of Gazza. When I was growing up, Gazza was my hero and I loved the way he played football.

“He just played off the cuff sometimes, just played with freedom. Every time he had the ball, he looked like he was enjoying it and had a smile on his face.

“It just seems to be second nature to him. I love seeing young players coming through, because I have been there.

“I look at Max and he has definitely got some similar qualities to Gazza in that respect, because he looks like he is just a natural footballer with the way he moves with the ball, his IQ, the things he sees, the pictures he sees.”

Dowman has been training with Arsenal’s senior squad since he was 14 and as he grows he will given more and more chances by manager Mikel Arteta who has eased him into his title chasing side so far.
