Forwards Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz are still ruled out after their season-ending injuries of the previous campaign whilst the likes of Bukayo Saka, Christian Norgaard and William Saliba are all out for the coming weeks.
However, Arteta could be set to see the return of White who came off in the 71st minute in the win at Manchester United in the opening game of the season. Standard Sport report that the right-back has since missed the last two games due to injury, but is hoping he could return this weekend.
The right-back is said to be progressing well in his recovery and will be assessed in the coming days to determine his fitness status ahead of this weekend’s clash with a Forest side who have had a mixed start to the season under manager Nuno Espirito Santo.
With several key games ahead, Arsenal are cautious about pushing the defender back too quickly but Arteta may seek to introduce White against Forest as he looks towards his lack of defensive options.
After Forest on Saturday, the Gunners kick off their Champions League campaign with a trip to Athletic Club on Tuesday before facing Manchester City and Newcastle United in what is a tough few weeks for an injury wrought Arsenal side.
